Refluxgate Notes

Despite containing caffeine, green tea is generally not considered a reflux trigger. It is a common misconception that caffeine triggers reflux. Studies show, that while coffee triggers reflux, tea usually does not. It appears that other substances in coffee are responsible for the reflux. Green tea is preferable over black tea for LPR, as it has a higher pH, even though the pH of black tea is still in the acceptable range.
