Tomatoes are not acidic enough to be a major concern for heartburn.

Is the acidity a problem with LPR?

Tomatoes are a bit too acidic for people with LPR, but might be still tolerable. We would recommend however, to avoid tomatoes until your LPR symptoms have improved..

Refluxgate Notes

It has been hypothesized that it might simply be the acidity of the tomatoes, especially when concentrated in tomato sauce dishes, which worsens reflux. Raw tomatoes, especially in small quantities, seem generally to be better tolerated, than tomato sauce.
